Reels About Nothing has been making
LEGO stop motion since 2001. Chris Boyer had just moved to Moses
Lake, and having done Power Point for his last youth group, he soon began
to do it for the Moses Lake Alliance Youth Group. One Wednesday when he
brought his computer to do Power Point, Hugh Doran was doing sound
and was interested in his computer. Seeing an X-Wing background on
Chris' computer Hugh ask if he read Starwars books. Chris had just
finished reading the first in the X-Wing series. They became good
friends. That fall Jason, the youth Paster, announced that he wanted
to have a youth group film festival. Hugh was exited about it because
he knew a guy, Brian Bridges, who was making a stop motion LEGO movie
that was making fun of Star Trek, and Hugh hating Star Trek was all
for lampooning it. When Hugh, Chris and Brian all got together to
make the movie they found out that they all liked: Five Iron Frenzy,
the Descent II sound track, and Starwars. Who would have known. For
some reason they did nothing on the Trek movie, but decided they
would make a movie about LEGOs killing computers and other toys,
however they ran out of time and only had computers destroyed.
